what many of us have been saying for a while now. When one peruses the stats on the year, it is apparent several things should happen quickly to give us a chance to find additional scoring, which we need, without giving up any rebounding or defense. Even though their minutes are reduced. HK and KPG still combine for half a game....too much. By playing smaller with Diatta and Toe, we can have a chance to score and gain quickness. I would play HK only in emergency or blowout situations. KPG has some decent numbers, but others will do more with some of his minutes. JP is playing 6-8 minutes too much and taking too many shots. Turtle and JH need those minutes and shots will be more productive. Fox needs to let them know we need their scoring. Giving DO more minutes will make up for any rebounding we lose from JP's reduced time. He is really playing well and is about as productive as Yante based on minutes. I'd allow him to take that short jumper from around the ft line some. He has a nice touch and if he makes a few it will keep his man from sagging down. It is a shot that he can follow easily for offensive rebounding.
ME, Toe and Diatta are kind of treading water, but are still better options than HK and KPG. And we gotta keep giving Crump chances to breakout. Our mtm had improved somewhat a while back, but it is still, imo, a game to game thing based on matchups. Why Fox will play it at times for large stretches and then go a game like Oakland without any that I saw is a mystery. We were fouling them all night off the dribble and it helped us lose the game sticking mtm.
As I said these are not really new insights, but the numbers at this point make it obvious that what we believed from the beginning about this team has played out. We have the talent to be a very solid team, but only if the right guys play.
