Not long ago, we all dreaded every off season’s plague of legal aches & actual, physical injuries.

“Back in the day,” every off season seemed to be when most of our team’s bad news broke. Every one of us would cringe as we read any headline regarding law or medicine in a player news context.

And so it went for a long while in previous “regimes.” We remember. Lots of game time was missed by people, who had made bad or unlucky (mostly bad) choices.

New regime. More internal & more effective handling of team rules breaking consequences. But, hey, guess what. “Youth is fleeting,” when not flying around in one dimension or another. Can’t carry them all around on cradle boards 24-7.

So, bad things can & do happen. We learn from doing. We learn from observing what others do or don’t do & when. And sometimes, we “throw caution (& good choices) to the wind.” We like the wind in our hair when going fast. So many of us are drawn to the “scariest ride” at the carnival or the fastest car on the track (go kart & NASCAR or Formula 1 (we surely like that number).

As fans, we are lucky in that we only observe, speculate and comment. We don’t risk life & limb playing in a “collision sport,” a dangerous game. Most (huge percentage) of us don’t make a living in the sport(s) we love so much. But, bless our hearts, our loyalty & intensity are feverish.

We UGA Dawg fans are off the charts lucky to know & understand “how good we have it” right now. I feel truly blessed. Let’s be thankful.

HOW ‘BOUT EM?!!
