Have your views changed as far as players getting paid? Did you have concerns that it would create an imbalance, and have those concerns come to fruition? What has been an unexpected surprise throughout all of this?
Personally, I have always been in favor of players making money off their names. I remember being floored by the suspensions of A.J. Green and Todd Gurley when I was first at Georgia, thinking it was so absurd that a star athlete making tons of money for the school could not profit off their own NIL.
My biggest surprise so far is seeing the more obscure athletes being able to profit off their name. Several companies sponsoring lacrosse players, wrestlers, and other non-major sports was not something I expected. I had the concern that 99% of the deals would be going to 1% of the athletes, but that has proven to be untrue and I think that's a huge positive.
This is a post for a UGA class so any responses would be really appreciated
