Let's say it's Kirby that gets the job and UGA turns out to be mediocre over the course of a few years. how is that any different in what we have now? How is winning 9 or 10 games a year under Richt and not winning the east (while it is pathetic) any different than 7 or 8 wins and not winning the east?

the answer to you question is 2 wins or 2 losses. depending if you are glass half full or glass half empty.

Hopefully he'd be shown the door instead of being allowed to hang around long past his prime.

It's different in the aspect you let the number 1 qb get away along with one of the best DC in the country ..

Can't live like that. What if you wake up dead in the morning? er, or not wake up.

What if your car blows up. What if you take the wrong job, street, direction?
What if you get hit by a car crossing the street? What if the plane crashes?

You gonna worry about dying every day?
You gonna worry about your car, filled with gas, blowing up?
You gonna not drive because you are scared of getting lost?
You not gonna cross a street for fear of getting hit by a car?
You not gonna fly?

It sucks to live in fear. In life, you live. You make decisions to try and make more money, provide more security, etc. In all those decisions, you can make a mistake and fail.

But do you stop attempting to do these things?

If you don't make enough money to pay your bills, you get another job or replace the one you have. You plan. You project.

No different than the decision made here. You can always fail, but if you are afraid to move, you already have.

Live like you were dying, not die instead of living.

Just saying.

BRAVO! Great post.

There is a certain level of nobility in striving for excellence...even if the result comes up short, as long as you keep striving. There is no nobility in settling for what is safe.

It sounded like Pruitt was gone regardless and everyone was done with Schotty. So what if Richt stayed? We would be starting over with new coordinators, a freshman qb that no one here can predict how well he will do or even if he would stay healthy. So if Richt had stayed does anyone really believe that we would have done better next year compared to this year? This to me was the time to make a change.

You do know I am in favor of the Smart hire right? I thought a change was needed after we didn't score a td in the bowl against Central Florida in 2010. I don't live in fear and risky decisions don't bother me. I think you missed my point.
