I say this because I’m 100% confident that our offense moving forward, if he does have to play, will look a lot more like that first drive of the second half than all the subsequent drives.
Kirby was 100% sitting on the lead after that first TD. Didn’t want Gunner, in a high pressure situation, to have to carry the game with his arm and almost zero experience.
I’m not saying Gunner is the answer at QB, or that he’s in any way an improvement over Beck, but let’s give him time to run the offense with #1 reps and a complete gameplan open to the staff from the first snap before we make a final decision.
We have exactly what we needed. A top-4 seed, and a first round BYE. Everything is in front of us and I believe in this staff to get the rest done.
