Just spoke with Evans after his state title win in Chattanooga.
To get the obvious question out of the way, Evans said he is 100% locked in with Georgia. He has given the same message to Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp. Evans also expressed that he's very happy for Fran Brown and his opportunity at Syracuse.
Brown is the main reason Evans committed to Georgia in the first place. Brown stayed in contact even while Evans was committed to LSU. Over time, Evans found himself uncertain of the future of the LSU defensive coaching staff and became more receptive to Georgia's pitch.
Now that Brown is gone, however, Smart's program is more than enough to keep him committed. Evans expressed confidence that Georgia will hire a great defensive backs coach while continuing to run the program the exact same way to develop his game.
Evans is enrolling early. Evans actually said he will be in Athens December 20, so one would assume that means he'll be taking part in bowl practices.
