was that we were behind basically the entire series. We gave up at least one run in the first inning all three games. I think we only played two innings all weekend with a lead. So obviously it's good when you can stay out of the sweep under those circumstances, which we did. But beyond that, it's good that we didn't let anything get out of hand either. Ryan Webb limiting things to 2 runs in the first on Saturday was a huge reason we won that game. We stayed in striking distance all day yesterday. And even on Friday night after getting down 9-0, we really fought hard and made Tennessee work to finish the game off. With a young team* we didn't get overwhelmed and didn't let things get away from us. Lot to be said for that.

*-We are young. But at the same time, we've got a lot of older, experienced players on the field. We only had two true freshmen in the lineup yesterday and started a draft eligible sophomore on the mound. The same was true on Saturday and all three guys who pitched who have been around for a few years - either here or at Virginia in Ben Harris' case. We are young overall with the pitching staff, and we threw a lot of young guys on Friday, but we don't need to overplay the "youth" card right now.

Hitting wise, we were 4-27 from the top two spots in the order. It's tough to score a lot when that's the case. We only drew six walks on the weekend (while issuing 20) and only had four extra base hits all weekend. You can't punt that off on youth. Again, only Parks Harbor (who had a good weekend), Corey Collins for 2 ABs, and Luke Wagner were true freshmen to hit this weekend.

Hopefully Corey Collins can get back on the field in College Station. When he does come back, here's how I'd slot it:

Ben Anderson - CF
Riley King - LF
Parks Harbor - 3B
Corey Collins - DH
Conner Tate - RF
Josh McAllister - 2B
Cole Tate - SS
Cheney Rogers - 1B
Gonzalez/ Marshall - C

I do think that you stick with Anderson a little longer in the leadoff spot, though we'd be better off having King higher and dropping Cole Tate down a bit. And hopefully too we can go with Webb on Friday night and Cannon on Saturday against Texas A&M.
