why do teams always start their "Ace" on Friday night? If the other team's Ace is overwhelming, why not save your Ace until Saturday or Sunday? Friday night's game doesn't count any more than the other games. It seems like a better strategy to save our Ace for a game more likely to go our way. How did the Friday, Saturday, Sunday starters order evolve in college baseball?
Is that considered poor sportsmanship? I have the same feeling in college tennis. If the opponent's #1 single player is the best in the nation, why not move our #1 down to #2 and sacrifice our #2 or #3 at #1 to even the match at 1-1. Otherwise, the opponent may beat us at #1 and #2 and the match is all but over.
