Workers are also approaching their employees and asking for less hours to keep their government handouts coming. But to disqualify someone because they didn't follow the society-defined "correct path" and go to college is asinine. I'd put my grandad's engineering expertise up against anyone. His high school didn't even have 12th grade, but he went on to serve 30 years in the military and another 30 serving in the same capacity as a civil servant. He never attended a single college class, but I guarantee that his knowledge rivals that of anyone else in his field - college grad or not.

There are thousands of examples of men or women who built a successful business or lead one without a college degree. Yes it is great to have a college degree, but that does not guarantee success of any kind. Hard work, common sense and a rugged individualism are a good start. The left are a very shallow group of thinkers when someone does not come pressed out of the mold that they think should define an individual.
We need thinkers and individuals not political puppets send through the ivy league pipeline, that Washington and the left love so much.
i think our president should have attended, and finished, college.....shows a commitment to doing something and completing it, for one....for two, when i see a guy like Walker change his views on an item like immigration, 3 times in a week...i just wonder if that's because he doesn't have the decision making skillset a lot of other people would have learned while gaining college degrees.
Look at what he has already done as Governor of Wisconsin. He came in under a state with a failing economy and reversed that now running a surplus. He stood up to the unions and backed them down. What did our college grad current president do community organizing? what the heck does that even encompass? When you compare the two it is obvious who is the real leader. Immigration is a complex issue and we can't just snap our collective fingers and solve it. I say we have a mass deportation, but that is not likely to happen. Walker has shown he has the capacity and the willingness to make the hard decisions. obama not so much.
Why not slap a high import tariff on cookies from Mexico or reduce the sugar import tariff. Either way keeps the jobs here
You just don't get it do you? Your friend Mr. Big government has forced the higher taxes on domestic companies and decreased the import tariffs on foreign competition, it is the cause of the problem you are belly aching about. That is why conservatives value smaller government.

i think that's a generic enough sounding boogeyman, that it'd be hard to disagree with, but if you peel back the layers it's not enough of a reason to cause them to close a factory
If you are the owner or CEO of the factory the bottom line is profit and return on investment for stockholders. That is not a generic reason, it is black and white math and economics. No grey area whatsoever. Boils down to make a profit or shut it down, this happens every day and the politicians blame the companies for leaving. They are forced to leave by the oppressive taxes and regulations. You want more companies to remain cut the taxes and offer reasons for them to stay. If you have something for sale that I would like to buy you ask for example a motorcycle for $5000 and I counter with $2500, you have the right to tell me no way or come up in price. I can not tell you that you must sell it to me for that price, because you are being greedy. You should make some money on the sale which is only fair. That is what Oreo is trying to do. Simple.
