some posters suck and their takes are lazy.

Our guards all have some limitations, as just about every player that has ever stepped on the court. The problem is our coach employs an offensive system that magnifies the very weaknesses our players have instead of utilizing the talents they do possess. But, it's just easier (lazier) to say they suck rather than trying to analyze why they struggle.

IMO, our team has fought hard and rarely displayed being lazy in the sense it appears to be used by the poster. What I have witnessed for the most part is confusion, or indecision stemming from our original offense being totally mismatched to our players abilities. Additionally changing offensive schemes mid-season is usually a recipe for the above.

Our confidence is shaken, which also leads to indecision and hesitation. Instead of freeflowing play we are overthinking and that leads to turnovers and bad shots. There is an old saying..."he didn't know whether to sh-t or go blind". It looks to apply to our play. I am not excusing awful passes, bad shots, poor rebounding etc. on this malady. Our players need to take their share of responsibility. But, i have played on enough bad teams, with questionable coaching to recognize the symptoms.

As an example of what I experienced I offer this anecdote for your edification. While playing 10th ranked Davidson, coached by Lefty Driesell, at their place in our pre-conference schedule my senior year, we were locked in a tight back and forth game. With about a minute to play Davidson had cut our 5-6 point lead to one. We should have already called a timeout, but luckily there was a foul call. I looked to our bench hoping we would call timeout and get organized as they were shooting two freethrows. It was then I noticed our head coach and assistant in a heated discussion. I decided to take it upon myself and called a time out. As we approached the bench we saw our head coach had the assistant coach by his tie and was choking him. By the time order was restored we had to go back on the floor. Davidson hit a couple freethrows and we ended up losing by one point. What happened in the locker room later was just as bizarre, but the wife says dinner is ready.
