half-empty, the way that I perceived it, after those first 2 games. I can readily admit, that I sincerely believed, that we were looking down the barrel or a 9-3 / 8-4 regular season record this year. My seat was in the gallery with those that thought we were in 'deep-doo-doo', after watching Greyson Lambert's Performance, or lack thereof, in those 2 games. Apologies, to the young man, rendered. That was fun to watch, against USCe, yesterday. It was obvious, and plain to see, that we were a much better team, than the 'Game Chickens'. The young man did a great job, and the OL gave him great protection.
There's no question in my mind, that if we can perform to that same level, or better, that we are very capable of winning the East. I'm not gonna go so far, as to say, that we will finish the regular season undefeated. However, it's not out of the realm of a possibility. Of course, the ball would have to bounce our way a couple of times. There will be games like that. It just goes with the territory.
Bama will be more, than just a handful. Beating USCe, handily, is good for the moral. But, not so fast. They weren't even ranked in the Top 25 in the country, and lost to Kentucky prior to playing us. But, that game showed, that if we continue to improve, and are clicking on all 8-cylinders, that we can have a special season. Winning the East is a must. To be honest, I was really impressed with Ole' Miss. Robert Nkemdiche is an absolute BEAST on the DL. If we can't block him, should we play Ole' Miss. for the SECC, then we will be in for a long day at the ranch. But, first things first, just win the SECE and cross the Ole' Miss. Bridge in the SECC Game, if that's the way that it all plays out.
