Play calling is a small part of an OC's job. Teaching and practicing is the job.

Football players and coaches spend 95% of their time practicing and 5% of the time actually playing games.

So while playcalling is important the ability to teach and practice those plays is 95% of the job. And that teaching and repetition results in ................ EXECUTION on gameday.

It was obvious we did a poor job of teaching and preparing on offense. The OL played poorly, WRs were running the wrong routes, dropping balls.... Our QB didn't appear ready or confident. And the play calling made my head hurt at times.

That's fine - nothing more than a bad start - but our 2 biggest concerns (QB and OC) are bigger concerns today than on Friday.
