Curious about this - when a player such as Chubb needs surgery due to a football injury, is he covered under a University paid for policy or does his own policy (through his parents, etc.) cover the cost with a University policy being a supplement to cover the deductible and items that the primary policy does not pay for. I would think that most insurance companies would not be willing to pay an extra benefit to have a noted surgeon like Dr. Andrews in attendance, unless as part of the overall insurance coverage the insured (in this case Chubb) has the right to bring in an out-of-town doctor.
