I kept expecting this to get fixed, but it doesn't look like it will happen.

In Sep the stipends will go into effect and our program will be in deep, deep trouble.
If a class kid like Gurley would risk his future for a few hundred dollars imagine how enticing this will be to MANY kids, who could blame them.

I just can't believe McGarity and Richt are taking this without a fight.

Helen where have you been? This was a huge talking point at the SEC Media days a couple weeks ago...and UGA was one of the programs that brought that up

Turdious, I know, but it should have been a near revolt by members most affected by this in a negative way.
I'm not sure what would be too much in fighting it considering the possible ramifications.

Who? Name names. Give us a name.

Yes, come clean, you have no idea who I am. Even if you stumbled onto an old site name you wouldn't.
Go ahead, make my Friday morning.

They did. As did other schools. What the SEC and NCAA SHOULD be investigating (and also brought up) exactly how is it, it cost thousands more to live in Auburn than it does in any of the other schools except Knoxville? Seriously? That should raise flags right there.

There was no consistency on rules to figure what or how the costs were figured. I suspect at some point, it will change, but probably too late for next year's recruiting class. But it's across the board. Those northern schools, California, etc. where it costs more, will be able to offer even more.

For next year, the financial aid office (that sets what the cost of attendance at the school is) is supposed to reveal how it determined what the cost of attendance is and breakdown the different components (travel, books, supplies, etc.) Maybe when we find out how Auburn determines its COA, we will be able to adjust our calculations and come up with a comparable cost.

Hopefully this gap is just a one year aberration.

That's what I'm hoping and I imagine schools all over the country are complaining.

Auburn and Tenn are paying more than USC and UCLA. They are at the very high end of the scale nationwide.
If we're forced to go about this one point at a time where it's prove this, then prove that we're royally screwed for years.
The only cure would be to revolt and get the payment equal across the board ASAP.

Auburn has already released an itemization of expenses. Over half the payment comes under transportation cost. It may be that they don't supply scooters.
We done for if that's the only approach available to us. We'll be battling this for generation if we turn it over to lawyers.

Coach Richt said earlier this year that they had some type of way they could come close to funds being offered by other schools.
