I'll keep it mostly positive (yes, there were some negatives, but I'll leave that for our majority negative consituency).

Many thoughts here when I posted at the half (lots of attacks, too...our crowd loves to hate and ostensibly wishes we'd lose): https://uga.forums.rivals.com/threads/uga-mizzou-halftime-thoughts.244699/

POST-GAME:

-Persevered and scored 50 in the second after a mundane first half where we scored twenty. Check plus. Veteran/good team behavior.

-Mizzou was playing with a chip on their shoulder. We took their best shot and still won easily (don't let the 5 fool you--they narrowed the gap in garbage time). Lost 5 straight and 5 straight to us--make that 6 and 6. Clearly, with all the brew-haha's between the teams, their emotions were high. We weathered it. It's a W.

-LOVED seeing Diatta get all that run. Hopefully, this marks the point where he leaps KPG unequivocally. KPG will likely get a few opportunities but they will be few and far between, I suspect. Everyone calling for Fox to play his better players should see things trending the way they want. 12 points, 5 boards, 1-2 from range. Made some plays showing off his versatility on offense. Able to play pretty strong defensively and pulled down 5 boards. This should give Fox everything he needs to permanently keep him ahead of KPG, relegating KPG to the bench.

-Loved that Fox let them finish with Diatta/Harris without Parker....good experience for the new guys.

-Juwan Parker: 3-6 for 11 points and 6 boards; 5-8 for 12 points and 6 boards vs. SCe; 3-7 for 10 points and 4 boards vs. Auburn; 5-11 for 15 points vs. Oakland. Yes, he's an essential cog. Yes, his shooting percentage is improving from his career average.

-Turtle pulling the 3 contested from the corner and nailing it. Starting to be a bit more assertive. Two assists, too, and one was a really nice one that he "made the play." Just looking more confident and assertive--we need him to be just that.

-Harris didn't explode out of the box score, but he's looking more comfortable and made a few nice drives in the second half. Was aggressive attacking the hoop. I like what I see.

-Kessler played aight. Didn't hurt us. Played better than....

-Mike Edwards. Edwards is by far my biggest disappointment this season. 4 turnovers. Three boards (ho-hum). Edwards seems a bit out of control like he the game still hasn't slowed down for him. We need him to grow up soon. Can't shoot FT's. Is more physical than we expected but less effective with the ball than we expected. Like a bull in a china shop. We need him to play better.

-Wilridge seems to be an afterthought at this point...beneath Harris, Diatta, and KPG. Didn't play. Tyree isn't playing much and may not this season, but he will have a huge role next season...not so sure about Wilridge.

...that's about all I got. No style points but got a win we had to have. Need to pull one out at Ole Miss. If we can get that, we will be 3-1 in conference heading to play at Florida where we could afford a loss but will have a chance to steal one. So, Ole Miss is crucial. They can play well...only lost by 7 at UF. Would like to see them get the W at Auburn today...always would rather play a team coming off of a W. They'll be headed home after two on the road, so it's gonna be a battle.

As Barry Booker said before the game was settled: "If the season ended today, Georgia is a tournament team." We're right there. Just gotta close out the season strong.

Oh, OH....and, WE HAVE TO SIGN A BIG OR TWO LATE! Let's get Walker from Kansas and maybe a nice transfer or JUCO. If Maten returns, we'll be fine, but we still need a big for when he leaves--regardless of when that is.

Have a nice day all you fans and "fans"...PEACE
