.... and their previously-independently-ran power generation company, Eskom (in South Africa). An Eskom engineer had been forced to take an early retirement due to race-based "equality" laws which were passed by the ruling communist party, the African National Congress (ANC).
The ANC took over the operation of Eskom and in 20 years has gotten it to a point that it cannot sufficiently provide electricity on a day-to-day basis, and they are about to go bankrupt.
Meanwhile, over a year in which power shedding has been taking place across the country, during the middle of the day in major cities like Johannesburg, shutting power to business areas during working hours on a regular basis, and when Eskom had to have a government bailout just to survive, the company's top executives gave themselves incentive bonuses totaling 11 million rand. Of course, these people now running the company were grossly unqualified appointees by the ANC. No surprise that they are robbing it into extinction.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) is the major opposition party to the ANC and has come out publicly protesting these bonuses (see the link).
This is the same level of corruption we see today in Washington, and it is getting worse. If nothing is done to stop it, it will simply get to the same level as what is bankrupting South Africa.
