Had to watch the game on delay due to Christmas late lunch with some of the In-laws. Just getting finished with the game.

Let’s get after it!

1st Half
Our first half hero was back wearing his cape. Jabri put on an absolute show that we haven’t seen in a hot minute. It’s been very rare in UGA hoops the last few years when we just were able to keep riding a hot hand. We kept coming back to Jabri he was so hot. 5 for 5 from deep. Got fouled on another and hit all the free throws. Finished the half (and game) with 18 points. This after he went off for 21 points in the 1st half of last game. My favorite play was when on an inbounds play where we ran a triple screen for Jabri, the defense was so worried about him that he was able to hit an easy pass to Big Frank rolling to the basket for a foul. Big Frank sinks both.

Second Half
Lots of different subs. Lots of different lineups. I didn’t glean a ton from that half. Noah definitely helped us with two quick threes to start the half. It was good to get positive contributions from so many folks.

Overall Thoughts
1. We have three elite shooters. That’s exciting. It was really good to see Jabri scoring off the dribble on some threes and from way deep. Blue and Noah can definitely do the same.
2. Dylan James sighting! Came in and ready to fire. He is strong and quick. He can shoot it. Once he gets comfortable out there with the speed of college game, he is probably going to move up the depth chart. His ceiling is high. Just don’t know if we have enough time now to get him ready now before the gauntlet in the sec.
4. We played 11 guys double digit minutes. That’s not a knock on White, but that effects some of the stats of the game and rhythm.
5. Jalen Deloach. We have been waiting to see it. It was there today. 9 points and 5 boards in only 10 minutes. The quickness, spin move, authority dunk finishes, tenacity on rebounds and defense. He has got the edge we have longed for our big men to have.

Area of Concern:
We have gone through stretches in the non-conference where we just don’t throw it inside a whole lot. Last two games have been that way. Tchewa has pretty much been nonexistent the last two games and that’s not because he has played terribly, we just aren’t throwing it in deep to him. We are going to need to utilize him more. We are going to have to have some form of an inside game.

Always, always, always good to see a W. Always good to see us go 7 for 7 from three in the first half. That’s freaking fun. Lets get after it after Christmas. Merry Christmas and Go Dawgs!
