Rock fight. Every freaking time we play these dudes it's a rock fight. But 90% of the time the last 6-7 years, we weren't ready for it but tonight we were. We didn't have any one in particular feeling it on the offensive end tonight, but we kept swinging and got out of there alive. 3-1 in conference play. 2-0 on the road in conference, 3-0 on the road for the season!! It was a marathon of a game and we made it across the finish line. Just a HUGE W!

1st Half
Tchewa said mouse in the house and went to work. Just leaned on the small fellas down there and made them pay. Had 9 big points in the 1st half. South Carolina was overplaying us big time on the three point line and we needed to go inside and Tchewa answered the bell. Then Melendez goes on an 8-0 run by himself towards the end of the half that totally changed momentum. Two huge three's by him. Down 1 at half.

2nd Half
South Carolina loses two players to injury and we just absolutely leaned on them down the stretch and they wore down. Justin Hill goes on a nice 6-0 run when we were down 9 and changed the momentum. Then with 6:30 left in the game Jabri hits a three to put us up 7. That would be the last field goal by us until inside of two minutes. And with us with a 4 point lead inside of two minutes and the offense scrambling for daylight, who does the ball find?!?!?! Big Frank the Tank for a hook shot that sent us all streaking. Man, what a shot. Hill would eventually hit another one of his late game killer crossover midrange shots to just about ice it as well inside of a minute left.

Wild Stat:
DId we get kind of messed over by some whistles against Tennessee??? Yep. But we got a few tonight to even it out. Inside of the last 5 minutes of the game we shot 16 free throws. We hit a solid 12 of them. Demary was the 6 of 8 late with the lions share of those free throws. Free throws were a HUGE deal late.

Who was that guy?
Silas Demary 15 points, 7 boards
Jabri 11 points, 8 boards
Melendez 12 points

But really it was group effort. We only three made three's and we still cooked them. Bam! Mike White made a gutsy call to roll with Frank Anselem in the second half after not playing at all last game or in the 1st half of this one. It paid huge dividends as he had 5 points and 5 rebounds and all of them felt clutch. Blue got to finish the last 5 minutes of the game tonight. It was a mixed bag with him late, but great to get him experience and still get the W. Noah sat late but still was going crazy celebrating afterwards. Jabri is starting to play bigger than he has in the past on rebounds and defense. Demary is really coming on. Blue is starting to figure some things out. We are 3-1 and we have some dudes who haven't come close to reaching their ceiling. Lets's ride!!! Go Dawgs!!
