-1 League structured like NFL with conferences and divisions. There is also league wide salary cap for NIL.
-Kids can commit to school of their choosing but only for league wide pre-set contracts with escalation each year (100k, 150k, 200k for example). There is a 2 year stay obligation and then you can portal or renegotiate but you cannot be paid less than 3rd year minimum contract if you stay on the team. Similarly after 2nd year the school can cut you loose and you are free to go to any other school in the league or drop down.
-If kids want more money than the above guarantee they enter into a draft prior to matriculation which is structured like the NFLs and are obligated to spend at least two years at the school that drafts them. Contracts from the draft could result in more money (there would be an overall salary cap) but again there is obligation to stay 2 years and you may be playing for a bottom feeder. After 2 years the player can reneg as above, portal, or be cut and go elsewhere
This is obviously not a perfect system as I just thought of it. It’s meant to inspire conversation.
