As we go into this HUGE game for the trajectory of our program this weekend, let's take a step back and think about where we are and where we have been.
Item 1...I absolutely do not like how we are trending and where we stand right now. Is it coaching? Injuries? Fit? Culture? Very few of us, if any, know the answers. Knowing our head man I feel pretty confident he is leaving no stones unturned in trying to get it fixed.
Item 2...do not fall into the trap of "we can't" or "we won't". If you think we can't or we won't, you didn't pay attention to what we did against Texas and Clemson. Arguably two of the best performances put forth in college football this year.
Item 3...without getting into the arena speech that triggers a lot of folks. Let's be very careful questioning the intent or the effort of our players. Without a doubt Ole Miss was one of our poorest performances in the CKS era. That said, this team has fought back time and time again this year when they could have mailed it in due to injuries, the schedule or other bad luck. Most of us have no idea how much effort goes into getting your mind, body and emotions ready to fight against SEC level teams every week.
Item 4...if the season's goals are quashed Saturday (which I don't think they will be), let's take a moment to reflect on what some of these older guys helped us do.
--Two national championships
--Undefeated (so far) home record since 2019
--49 wins in the last 4 years with a chance to get into the low-mid 50's.
--Three consecutive undefeated regular seasons...that simply DOES NOT HAPPEN in the SEC.
Now let's go whip the evverlivvinshitake outta some Knedbillies and keep this train moving in the right direction!
As always...Go Dawgs!
