Our buddy Joseph Hastings over at BuckeyeGrove was able to swing down to IMG yesterday and grab us a few Georgia centric notes.
Here's what he learned:
While Rivals250 linebacker Jihaad Campbell isn’t interested in giving an edge to anyone out of his top group, the Bulldogs are going to be in line for one of his official visits when the time comes. In fact, he’s already locked in a trip to Athens for mid-June. He’ll touch down in Athens from the 18-20 for his first ever trip there. He’s working most closely with the likes of Glenn Schumann and Dan Lanning, but he was quick to mention that Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp have also cropped up along the way a couple of times in his recruitment. He’s looking for a late summer commitment right now.
Kaytron Allen says Dell McGee is his guy, and they’re in consistent contact. He says the Dawgs believe he can play multiple roles in their offense. He said the Bulldogs are high with him right now, based largely on the history of Georgia at the position. Right now, he’s setting his official visit date for June 18-20. Look for Florida to also get an official visit here. He’s also shooting for a commitment before the season but says he’s open to waiting until before signing day.
Malik Bryant says he’s hoping to hear more from the Bulldogs, but the relationship has fallen off a bit in the last month or so. He says they’re pushing for an unofficial visit in June. He’s hoping to see the consistency continue to develop moving forward.
Despite Georgia making his top twelve a month ago, Rivals250 defensive tackle Nick James says he doesn’t think he can see himself in Athens. Not a huge surprise given some of the names on the board ahead of him, but we felt it worth mentioning.
