I was over at Meadowcreek HS for a little while this afternoon for a camp. Right when I walked in, 2017 wing Alex O'Connell's dad sought me out just to tell me how much they loved their visit to Georgia. They have already visited Auburn, Clemson and Florida, but he said their trip to Georgia was by far the best yet and the most organized. They loved that Coach Fox took the time to meet with each kid considering how many talented kids they had up there.
Personally, depending on how he develops and/or what happens with some of their current targets over the next few months, I could see UGA pulling the trigger on an offer to O'Connell. He seems a little taller every time I see him and gets a little better each time out too. He's around 6'6 right now, but very thin. He's a really good athlete, has a smooth stroke, and isn't afraid to attack the basket despite lacking in strength. He's a very creative finisher. Just another example of how deep the 2017 class is in Georgia (I have O'Connell 16th right now, although I'm probably a few spots too low on him after seeing him today).
