All tech has to do is beat us tonight, and then win the next 50 games against us to tie the series record. That's it. All tech has to do is make it to Omaha this year, then next year, then again in 2023. Assuming that we don't make it in any of those years, they'll have tied our mark for College World Series appearances. All tech has to do is win a national championship this year and they'll have won the same number as we have.
I remember talking to a tech fan after we beat them in football in 2011. He said "well, tech is better in a lot of other sports, like men's baseball" (as opposed to women's baseball?) I pointed out that we had a hefty series lead, more CWS appearances, and a national championship. He said "well, you have to look at all the other factors too" ... as if these un-named "factors" would somehow tilt the scales toward tech. "tech is much better in men's baseball, having won the acc tournament four times in the 1980s!"
Let's take care of business tonight... and then we can diffuse this same ridiculous argument again in three weeks.
