I know people up and down the hallways of the athletic department, and I’ve talked to Radi (former journalist, years ago - I don’t do that anymore).
It’s quite clear what happened here. The Downs family leveraged everybody against each other to get the most money, and somebody at the CC collective, who was a little too eager to cozy up to Radi, hedged his bets on this lead/story.
Yes, it makes the site look bad, but I promise you that source will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever be trusted with any piece of information for as long as they’re involved. Which might not be too much longer.
Yes it’s an L for Radi, Dash and the gang, but they’ll be better for it, and so will this site. I haven’t lost faith in the process, because I know who’s involved, and I know how this happens.
(Edit: I was a Richt era UGA media guy, so Radi may not even remember me, but he’s a good one. He got played, but I trust he’s plotting his revenge as we speak)
