Not exactly how you get it initially..but I can guarantee you once you get it in one eye..it's damn near impossible not to get it in the other. HIGHly contagious..especially if your kid has it the parent almost always catch it too.

Like with many things, washing hands frequently is very important when it's in the home. That along with treating the source and disinfecting contact points like doorknobs, etc.
