There are a lot of them. I’d be more pissed at the refs if we hadn’t been dominated in the trenches. I’d be more pissed at Bobo if we hadn’t had execution issues like the botched handoff and missed blocks, and if we hadn’t had hobbled players left and right. I’d be more pissed at the defense if we hadn’t been running with two freshman ILBs in key moments, like the swing pass TD. It’s hard to pinpoint any one thing as badly as we all want a scapegoat. The truth is, Bama played more focused and aggressively from the coaches to the players, we are a notch below our usual standard thanks to injuries and all of the portal and draft losses, and we didn’t get the calls or ball bounces when we needed them. We botched a handoff deep in our own territory, whereas Bullock’s punch causing Milroe to fumble bounced right back to him to seal the victory. Sometimes it’s the sum total of a lot of small factors that results in a 3 point loss. The margin is thin and the streak was never going to last forever. Hate that it was Bama, but we’re not the only team owned by Bama for the last 15 years. Let’s go out on a winning note. 13-1 would be tied with our third best record ever!
