I believe that CMR and CBS have an opportunity this year to allow the QB competion to extend beyong practice and evaluate the top two in live game conditions. This would not be an option in year's past when we opened with Clemson and South Carolina. I think that there is probably not a clear favorite but most likely a leader in the coaches mind. By opening with ULM, it affords a bit of a opportunity to let them compete in practice and compete in game conditions with the goal of naming a number one guy the first of the week going into game two.
This obviously is just my opinion because I certainly have no inside connection but just try to put myself in the coaches position and can't find any reason not to use live game competition to sort it out.
