Go Five and Ten if money is no object - get it on ..
However, I've begun to think La Dolce Vita (downtown on Broad St) is about as good as it gets in Athens. Depalma's (Italian), NONA (New Orleans), Shokitini (best sushi in town) also come to mind. Ty Ty loves the Last Resort, but it's never been a fave of mine. I'm admittedly in minority there. People really like it. Porterhouse is your only non-chain steakhouse in town. I used to criticize it, but I haven't eaten there in years so I probably shouldn't. I do feel safe in saying that it probably still doesn't come close to comparing to any of Atlanta's better steakhouses. A lot of folks speak highly of the SeaBear a HIGH end oyster bar w/ additional items besides the oysters if you want to make a meal. I need to get over there. It's in the Bottleworks complex off Prince, which has really been coming on strong lately. The Prince/ Normaltown area has become pretty popular, especially with the hipsters or whatever you want to call that type. A lot less students and much more mellow over there than downtown. There is an Argentine and Mexican place that are both good over there.
