just read that the Chat is going exclusively with a topical-read format. The whole idea of this sounds very, very dubious and sinister to me....it feels to me as if there's an undercurrent of illogical and false reasoning for doing this.......maybe they don't like the conservatism expressed here sometimes by certain folks.....like me.....or is it something else?

Going to a topical format only.......hmmm, someone's up to no good and trying to shut our mouths....or is it just my mouth? Or my imagination? Bottom line is, WHY THE CHANGE?

Noting that Yahoo! owns/controls all of the Rivals websites and that its CEO came from ultra-liberal Google (famous for tracking everything and everyone), they certainly know all that is said and done here on this board and maybe they just....didn't.....like it.

WHY? Even USC Trojans board members have said in the past.....

they strongly prefer the thread view over a topical view. It makes more for a "community" among fellow posters. The topical view destroys that.

One of the biggest complaints I've received over the years regarding thread was the specific threads would have so many responses it was hard to navigate and find others one. Not saying that's why the change is being made, I don't know. It's damned if you do damned if you don't. I guarantee of it was announced all the boards would be thread then you'd have all the topic view users complaining about that.

make threads collapsable/uncollapsable. That way if one gets too big

just collapse that sucker and have more room for other threads to move up.
