Ryder cup is getting close with picks to be made in about a month after the Fed Ex playoffs. Here's the current top 20:
Kisner sits at 22
Top 6 at final standings are automatically in, with 6 captain's picks.
Anyone from 7-12 could earn enough points to grab an automatic place with a good 6 weeks.
I'd guess the current top 11 all make it.
Cantlay and Finau are probably locks, and I'd put Spieth in that boat as well. Spieth is on the best trajectory of the 3 and has a lot of fans in the locker room.
Harris should be in on form, but his lack of experience may hurt him. He is 5-4 at the WGC, but this year was his first since 2015 and he went 1-2
Reed is an interesting one. He has been abysmal in partner play the last few cups (ryder and presidents). If he slips to say 10th in the standings, he might miss out. Most iffy of the group imo.
Last pick probably comes down to Phil, Berger, Simpson and Scheffler. Phil has obvious appeal and seems dead set on making the team.
Webb and Berger has steadily dropped down the list and probably fighting for 3rd choice of this group at this time.
Scheffler has been playing well and was outstanding at the WGC. Be great to get him blooded in, but might be better to wait for a President's cup. He did beat Poulter and Rahm at the WGC and you can bet your mortgage those guys will be on the Euro squad.
My guess, Phil makes it with Scottie as first alternate or taking Reed's spot. And maybe Kiz goes on a run and plays himself into the conversation. His match play record speaks for itself.
