Saban is no slouch; and, Bama recruiting has been at a high level for his tenure. So....

maybe, just maybe, we were beat by a better coach (certainly) and better team (probably). The real proof in the pudding comes when we play teams against whom we have out-recruited for at least the last 3-4 years. And, by that, I mean the following:
  • Tennessee
  • Missouri
  • Florida
  • Kentucky
  • Auburn (really, about par with them)
  • Georgia Southern
  • Georgia Tech
Stumble against any of these and Richt proves he cannot compete on an SEC-caliber field. If our AD had any balls whatsoever, the measuring stick would be this: Win out, win the SEC-E, go to Atlanta, and play in a higher level bowl game. Period.

Anything less should be worthy of dismissal... cause it just ain't gonna happen now or next year or ten years from now.

We were beaten by a much better team. Their defensive line (and entire defense) was incredible. All made worse by the fact that they lost to Ole Miss and were desperate. We still have a chance to come back from this, but no room for error.

Oh boy, I can't wait to see 4 more quarters of that disaster. You guys are delusional if you think this team is going to win out. 8-4 if we are lucky.

If Lambert had been nearly as good as he'd been the previous 2 1/2 games the game might well have gone completely differently.
He had the time and enough pocket room, plus receivers were open enough to hit in stride if he was accurate and on time.
We allowed Bama to crowd the LOS and We got no production from the passing game.
IF Lambert had shown up, the game would have been close.

No idea where you are seeing three more losses on the schedule. UF, maybe. Maybe a surprise somewhere, but three more - I doubt it.

No offense intended, but this sounds like the same tired rhetoric from the high-powered Richt excuse machine that's been running overtime the past several years. I'm tired of excuses. I'm tired of mediocrity. I'm tired of Richt's teams not showing up for big games. I'm damn tired of the "5 yards away" crowd. This is Richt's M.O. No one cared when he spit the bit to Zook's inferior Gators team in 2002 because we won the SEC for the first time in 20 years. No one batted an eye in 2005 when the same thing happened in the Sugar Bowl - after all, it was another SEC Championship season. Everyone likes to crow about the 2007 team that may have been the best in the nation at the end of the season, but missed the SECCG because they never got of the bus in Knoxville. It's a trend that is quite obvious if you care to take the time to think - a trend that's gotten steadily worse since the last SEC championship 10 years ago. If you're content with 10 wins a season, an occasional defeat of a ranked team and a rare appearance in the SECCG resulting in a moral victory, then by all means continue to support Richt. I'm done with Richt. I will not support him, nor will I support the athletic department until they make a change. I'll always be a fan of the G on the helmet - that won't change. I will, however, refuse to support mediocrity.

I agree 100%. I've felt like this for a while...at least since the Boise State game.

Don't forget, we usually also spit the bit against a team that we should, in no way lose to...Just because we got past SC (who has been one of those teams many times) we aren't out of the woods yet on losing to a team we should definitely beat.

I do not disagree with this, but this was not one of those games. Bama has a much more talented team than UGA. They beat us 8 out of 10, in Athens, in my opinion.

Then, to defend that, you'd probably have to say UF, LSU, Ole Miss and Bama are all much more talented than we are.....
