per Stricklin on the radio this morning. He said he feels good about the adjustments with Luke Wagner.
It's easy to criticize, but I don't understand why they're digging on this. Stricklin says that the think this order gives us the best chance to win a series. Aside from the fact that we have yet to win an SEC series with this order, the plan coming into the year was Cannon on Friday night. Then after he got mono, the plan was Webb on Friday night. Personally, I think it should have been Webb all along. He's been here, been very productive, and just seems to have that Friday night mentality. Further, as well as Jaden Woods has pitched, especially last Sunday in College Station, it seems like he ought to be the guy going on Sunday.
Stricklin indicated that it may be something of a staff game on Friday night.... I'm not crazy about opening a series that way anyway, but even without CJ Smith, I don't think we have to have a staff game on the weekend. I really believe that you could given Woods the baseball on Sunday afternoon and he'd give you 4 or 5 good innings.
This is nothing against Luke Wagner, who I think has a good future here. Just doesn't seem like the right role for him right now, and nor does this seem like the right role for Webb, Cannon, or Woods.
Lets beat these sumbitches anyway. I'm not real crazy about South Carolina and don't have nearly the respect for them that I did when Tanner was there.
