Back in the early 2,000’s, I lived in Richmond Hill south of Savannah. John Belushi’s widow and her husband lived in a cool house on a lake at the exclusive Ford Plantation. The house looked like a big boat house.
My oldest son got a job working at the club house while he was in high school. He started as a busboy but gradually took on more responsibilities. Of course, I told him all about John Belushi.
One night I picked him up from work, and he said, “Dad, I saw the sword.” I asked what sword and he told me that he had to make a food delivery to the Belushi house and was invited in. He saw the sword hanging above a doorway and asked about it. Belushi’s widow confirmed that it was indeed the one.
