We have spoken to a lot of people who were there and tried to pull together things that were confirmed via different accounts.
Owen Condon was working at right tackle. Warren McClendon was backing him up.
There were some explosive runs by James Cook and Zamir White. Cook had the big first run of the day versus the No. 2 defense. Then White broke one off versus the No. 2 defense.
Speaking of the backs, there were a lot of short throws to the tailbacks. (Calm down.)
The depth in the secondary is going to be sorely tested. A few of the DBs were held out. Still, all the passes were highly contested.
Georgia ran a lot more screens to the wide receivers, as the Bulldogs did back in 2017.
Kearis Jackson was returning punts.
Daran Branch, or at least a player wearing his jersey number, was there, but not dressed out. That would make sense as he would need to go through acclimation.
Jared Zirkle has a strong leg and looked good.
Jake Camarda boomed his punts.
The No. 1 defense was strong in its pass rush and on third down situations versus the No. 1 offense.
The No. 2 defense was beaten pretty good by the No. 1 offense.
Kirby said it was sloppy, but some of our observers say overall, it was not sloppy. Smart has high standards, though.
We heard a lot about Jermaine Johnson and Azeez Ojulari. Doubt that is the last we hear of them.
All three quarterbacks (Jamie Newman, JT Daniels, D'Wan Mathis) looked smooth, although Richard LeCounte intercepted Daniels for a pick-6 in a third down situation drill. May be a few more QB runs.
You can see the NFL influence of Monken on everything.
MORE:
Justin Shaffer played left guard and Ben Cleveland played right guard.
Can you imagine the size of this third string:
LT: Broderick Jones
LG Devin Willock
C : Sedrick Van Pran
RG: Chad Lindberg
RT: Tate Ratledge
George Pickens had a pair of TD receptions. Jamie Newman hit Pickens on a bomb, and apparently those two are clicking. Daniels hit Pickens for a TD in the red zone.
