Realistically, we aren’t likely to get higher than the 9 seed unless something crazy happens. Big10 runner up, PSU, ND, OM/Bama will likely remain above us for home playoff games.
It’ll would require some chaos for us to make the SECC, but would you rather face a Bama/Texas/A&M in Atlanta or play OM/Bama/Texas again on the road in the playoffs? Could also end up playing at OSU or Oregon in the first round.
Personally I’d rather take our chances in Atl than risk some of the potential road playoff games. We’re better than PSU, ND, Indiana, but winter weather could be a major issue.
Note: I don’t think Texas would drop below us if they lose the SECC in a good game. For them and the Big10 runnerup, I don’t see the committee not giving them a home playoff game barring a blowout.
