- biggest storyline on UGA side is injuries on offense and just how effective can the hurt guys be… Bowers I expect to be close to full bore, Ladd’s is naggy so will see how he fares, RaRa should be fine, and Tate will prob get some run.
- if Bowers is ready to rock, then I think he will give Bama LBs a TOUGH time.. to me they’d almost have to bring a DB in close to help bc it’s a big mismatch there.
- Bama’s DBs are legit… right there with UGA’s talent wise. I think the light has really came on for 86 as of late (doesn’t hurt he’s actually been focusing on his position now that KM is back and running well…), I think Bell can have a good game and bring down a big contested catch or two. I’m very interested who they put Kool Aid on and if they shadow someone with him or not…
- Be prepared to be stressed and have anxiety throughout the game because what Milroe does best is what has given UGA problems this year. Don’t be surprised if they make some 3rd and 11 type plays where it breaks down and he scrambles for 15. Even when we spy him, we don’t have someone that can match well with his athleticism really, which is why he’s so dangerous with his legs. So he’s going to get his on the ground… but HAVE TO set the edge better in this game and cannot let their RBs bust a bunch of explosives. If you can make Milroe get the ball out quick over the middle then UGA will win… but if he’s extending the plays and then hitting bombs (which his best ball is the deep ball), then it’s gonna be a long day.
- To me, this is a game where Daijun is going to be very important… this is the type of defense where you will at times have to make something out of nothing and turn those 2 yards into 5-6, which is why I may like 30 in this game maybe a little more than Milton… there may not be room for KM to get a full head of steam unless the OL is straight up working the Bama DL, in that case it could be a KM2 game… where Daijun niche is turning nothing into a little something, Milton niche is turning something good into something great. Edwards wiggle around with that balance and get an extra 3 yards, but Milton can take a 10 yard carry and turn into 17-18 by dragging a dude 7 yards.
- keep Dallas Turner away from Beck. By all means do not let him get home… if he gets his hands on him, he’s going to try put him out of the game. Not even meaning that in a dirty player way, but he plays old school… he’s violent. Ugh, he was close to coming to UGA and probably would have (had some in UGA favor) if he had been able to take visits… but I digress.
- I worry about the LBs and Milroe… Smael is banged up right now too. To me, I think Raylen matches up ok here actually bc he’s so fast and a bit more naturally instinctive at LB than Smael and Milroe is going to use those angles outside so 5 may can have better luck in the open field.
- I don’t think it’s going to be a blowout either way, I’d look for a 3-4 point game and may come down to the very last drive. I know this may not be what y’all want to hear, but it would facetious for me not to be a concerned with Bama in ATL. I’m a worry wart too lol.
- With all that said, this team has played with their food all year but showed up when the lights were brightest… I’d expect nothing less on Saturday, the boys know this is a big one and the intensity is high right now. I think the good guys are on the right side of those 3-4 points, Dawgs on top.
