are struggling with progressions, the obvious and safe choice would be Bauta. I think his arm is comparable to David Greene's and he can make things happen when it all breaks down. Most of Richt's success was with a game manager at QB, Shockley was the first big arm Qb we had but we were still conservative as that was in DJs make up. Stafford to this day needs a little more game manager in him.

I want the guy that will not turn the ball over to run this team as our best hope is to win the turnover battle and let the other teams beat themselves. Seems an NFL coordinator that coached under Jeff Fisher would know this well.

Here's what Radi had to say on that topic...

I think - and this is just my own opinion - that Brice Ramsey is going to start but we are also going to see a lot of Greyson Lambert in that first game. My reasoning is Ramsey because he knows the offense and Lambert because they like the fact he has been in the wars before and they want to see what he can do with the current cast of offensive characters around him. I do think they are going to use that first game as a "proving ground" so to speak, and whoever looks the best will get the call the next week against Vanderbilt the following week.

Now that I've said that they will probably give Faton Baton the first crack, lol. But you asked my opinion, and what I described is what I believe will happen.

Ideally, I've got no doubt that Richt would much prefer to have a guy named in going into the opener, but I honestly think they are just not sure yet. There's honestly not a ton of difference between any of the quarterbacks. I think they are going to narrow it to two, and the starter be decided in a real game. In Louisiana-Monroe, no offense to them, they will have an opportunity to do that.

Quarterback carousels wreak havoc on WR's, expect a lot of drops early. The job should be Ramseys and it should not be close, but it is which is very scary. Based on everything I have read, Bauta runs the system the best, is the most accurate, but does not have a cannon, that is all that is holding him back. Greene did not either, not did Tim Couch, Chad Pennington, not sure AJ Mc Carron had a cannon either to just name a few. I know we want to stretch the D, but it only take a 40 yard pass to do it, and I am sure Bauta has at least that much arm.

Ramseys dad should be ashamed he let his boy play in a remedial HS Offense, he is still not prepared after several years in this one. With his arm, he should be closer to Stafford at this point.

It's almost like they want to find a reason not to start Bauta. I have only seen him a few times but he just looks comfortable with the role which probably explains why most reports keep saying he has best command of the offense despite not having the best arm

I don't think we need Cunningham to Moss passes anyway.

Glad it is not just me. Was wondering why everything I read basically said Bauta looked the best yet refer to Ramsey and Lambert as the potential starters. Makes no sense.

I want the guy that will make the fewest mistakes as this team is really good at just about every other position. Just hope some of the youngens can plug up the lines when called upon.

I hear from a fundraising friend of Loran Smith's that the QB looks to be Bauta. For whatever that is worth...
