and the long trip and the fact that our program is 0-6 in College Station, Texas A&M is 15-8 on the year.
They've had some outstanding baseball teams since joining the SEC, particularly in 2016 (we played poorly that weekend, but A&M was outstanding). There's a lot of season to go, but so far Texas A&M has:
-Lost two of three at home to Xavier;
-Lost a mid-week game Abeline Christian;
-Needed 10 innings to beat Tarelton State in a mid-week game;
-Been outscored by 20 runs in their four games against SEC teams (they played Auburn on Sunday in a tournament, which won't count toward conference standings)
-Scored 1 run or been shutout four times in 23 games (for all of our offensive concerns, we haven't yet been shut out and have only scored fewer than 2 runs one time in 20 games).
So that's the reality. Yes it's a tough place to play and yes it'll be tougher this weekend that it was for Xavier back in February (larger crowd is almost guaranteed). But Texas A&M has hardly been a juggernaut this year. This is a winnable series.
