The more I read about Elijah Griffin and Justus Terry, the more it reminds me of when Richard Seymour and Marcus Stroud signed with Georgia in 1997. And how those two helped form an impenetrable wall on the DL for the Dawgs for four years before both being picked in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft.
Very similar size-wise to each other (Stroud and Seymour were both listed at about 6'6", about 275, depending on what website you read); Griffin and Terry even mentioned that they are similar. Although Terry is the runt of the two at 6'5" 270 😆.
A safety on the back end of that UGA defense in '97 and '98, cherry picking weak spirals caused largely by the dominant DL: Kirby himself. Heheh. And Mike Bobo and Jonas Jennings on offense also. Hooo wee.
I wonder if that comparison has been mentioned by the old safety during recruiting.
