The Braves got Ender Inciarte, who looks like a so so ML outfielder, and the prize #1 pick in the 2015 draft, SS Dansby Swanson. Swanson has a chance to be a perennial all star, but He's still a prospect. The Kid is from Kennesaw and played for Vandy, where He was team AND College World series MVP. He'll likely play 2nd base at the big league level.

Is their goal to have the entire organization (major and minor league) be 23-and-under by spring training?

They couldn't pay me to go through the hassle of going to see the braves live this coming season, they are going to be flat out awful.
This has the potential to be a great trade for Us in the long run though. Not only did we get a decent, young starting outfielder, a great 2nd baseman/hitting prospect, We also got Aaron Blair, rated as their top starting pitcher prospect.
Management better be hiring all to good pitching coaches they can find, cause the organization has added 20 or so good young pitching prospects this year.
It's going to be at least 4 years before We might see him in Atlanta, but The Braves are said to have made a 4,3 million dollar hand shake agreement to sign a 16 year old Venezuelan SS Kevin Maitan, who is considered the best Latin prospect in 10 years. He's considered a truly great hitting prospect. Some compare him to Miguel Caberra at the same age.

I thought it was a good trade. The Braves got a .300 hitter who can steal bases and play center. They also got a pitcher who is ready to step into the Braves rotation hopefully and the number 1 overall pick this year in Swanson. Being a season ticket holder i have already paid for 2016 and down payment for 2017 so I have to keep a positive attitude.

This is Hanukkah and Christmas for UGA fans this Swanson kid is going to be a beast I wander if him or the other kid we have changes positions. I'm guessing Swanson switching to second

Swanson was in the low A league last year so I assume he is seen as a 2017 or 2018 arrival. Aybar is a temporary place holder until
Swanson is ready
.

Young pitchers = trade bait for young hitters.

That and only a percentage of them will ever reach their projected levels.
It's an odd truth that well under half of elite prospects ever reach anywhere close to their projections. The old Braves brain trust were good at selling high after reaching in-house conclusions as to which prospects were more and less likely to become good major leaguers.
I'm guessing the organization has 14 or so young pitchers rated as future MLB rotation players, only a few will end up making starting rotations in the bigs.

Edit, It occurs to Me this is exactly what Kirby was referring to when He said Bama has a greater ''margin for error'' than UGA at this time. That is what over-stocking good prospects is about.

Yes but do we move Kevin Maitan to third

In 2020 or so, assuming he doesn't renege on the agreement, it's non-binding and sort of against MLB rules, but it's common practice.
I watched some Youtube video of the kid last night, he has a great swing with pop, he's also a very talented fielder.

I watched some to kid has the potential to be great. I'm curious tho we have a lot short stops we trade freeman would it be for a first baseman

Management keeps insisting FF is completely off the table.
He plays a relatively easy position, he also has the size and hand eye coordination to be a good hitter well into his late 30s, so it makes sense to hold onto Him IMO. He is also a great clubhouse man, You always need those types.

I've been looking at some video and stats of Inciarte...man did I ever under rate him.
The guy is 24 years old, he had the 3rd highest defensive WAR rating in all of MLB last season, at any position. He plays RF, same as Jason Heyward, his D-WAR rating was higher than Jason's, highest of all RFers. Add in his .303 BA. he only has to increase his walks to be the complete package for Us.

I LOVE THIS TRADE.

That Maitan kid is only 15. Chances are they go with Garcia at 3rd. Olivera and Beckham will be in the mix as well.

It seems like yesterday Beckham was a rookie with all the potential in the world.
Hopefully home cooking agrees with Him.
