To call a meeting like this right before SECMD is incredibly savvy. Now, Kirby can say, “This has been addressed, there are public quotes on it, it is being dealt with, and I want to talk about the 2023 football season.”
It won’t slow down the questions, likely. But at least Kirby can flip the narrative of perception to, “Man, I wish they’d just ask him about football.” He can then tell the team, “All anybody wants to talk about is our culture. Let’s prove our culture on the field.”
