the ENTIRE GAME. Gave up 29 yards rushing on 26 carries. MSU QB said "these #$%@%@'ers are everywhere"......lol, on TV with the camera zoomed in on him. That spells out what the optimum for UGA defense in the future should look like. A sound defense that whips azz instead of resorting to risky tricks and twists. The defense he has been running has made a living making you drive the ball the length of the field the hard way, with out robbing Peter to pay Paul because sooner or later the slick offensive coaches will find Peter with nothing but his peter in his hand and you are scorched.

You can do that when your whole defense has NFL talent
OH, they had some positions where the guys were just some more D1 players. He started 2 freshmen in his secondary. That's just CFB. You work like hell developing players then they fall in love, screw up or just don't pan out. Or leave early for the NFL. Every year is a fresh start.

Wow..5 sacks, that comes to 1/4 sack per 5 star player on Their roster. Wait a tick, maybe there's some correlation there.
I may have just solved this here coaching thing.

Glad to be of service, lol, I knew a smart guy like you would catch on.

Yep. Bama can develop, for sure, college ball players. And while I like what we have on our roster right now, don't think it's as full as CMR had on his first day as coach of UGA:

Thomas Davis, Boss Bailey, Charles Grant, Chris Clemmons, Billy Bennett, Damien Gary,John Stinchcomb, Musa Smith,Sean Jones, Terrance Edwards. Will Witherspoon, the 2 Davids, Ben Watson, Jonathan Sullivan.

Good times! However, I feel Kirby will get the recruits we need and the staff will make sure they are prepared every week, the best players on the field, etc. No more coaching "with my heart instead of my head" as CMR admitted back during the debacle of Joe T and Stafford when he was a FR.

Bama has 20 players who rated 5 stars coming out of HS on roster right now. They have just one player going to this year's Pro-Bowl, We have 5. Let's not make Saban out to be some genius at developing players, the genius is in recruiting great players, then being excellent at game prep.

Apparently he's doing something right with 4 NCs, possibly 5 to come in what 7 years? As I said, he prepares them for college ball.

He has far more 5 star players than any other program. It's the same way USC dominated under Carroll. Of course Saban can coach and organize at a high level as well. Trade rosters with most any other team in a given year and He wouldn't have won 3 titles in 4 years though.
Kirby nailed it when He said the difference in Bama and UGA is depth of talent.
Pruitt made Kirby's job far easier with the talent He has brought in on defense. KS has taken over at a great time, He knows it too.
New England is successful as much because They are great at evaluating talent as anything. Saban said He realized very quickly at Miami His biggest advantage was taken away in The NFL, His ability to recruit. He put it this way. In college You can recruit many 1st rd players, In The NFL You can only draft 1 a year.

Countering attrition through redundancy in recruiting is Bama's #1 advantage. If You sign a single top player for a position all of Your eggs are in that basket of flesh. Bama usually has several top recruits per available position on the field, it is simple math really.
Saban was further enhancing that advantage by over-signing and culling non-productive players, till another ''Saban rule'' closed the loophole. I'm betting at least 1 title was due to His signing more players than other programs during the run of 3 titles over 4 years.
Saban is a great recruiter and He runs the logistics of a program better than anybody. Kirby's grasp of that system is as valuable to Us as His ability to prepare His guys and game plan.

The oversigning rule has killed LSU, they were rolling back when they could grey shirt like crazy.

It's hurt several YET, we couldn't even sign enough for 85 schollys we COULD have had a couple of years. THAT, imo, was inexcusable.

They don't have a coach that can bend the rules and exploit the system Like Smart and Saban can. When ever the NCAA has a rule you can exploit it
