series. We have 8 straight games after the UT series on the road (@ Tech, three @ #15 Florida, Kennesaw in Gwinnett, three @ #11 Vandy) then come home for three against #5 South Carolina. Then we close SEC play on the road against #19 Ole Miss and host #11 Kentucky.
So basically, our last 15 conference games come against top 20 nationally ranked talent. Right now our SOS sits in the 18-20 range and will almost certainly move into the top 10 before the season is up.
There are two ways to look at it: we could really struggle to stay alive for Hoover, or this is exactly the point in the season we want to face the best the SEC has to offer. I particularly think the latter, as though these are some very good teams none of them are unbeatable. I'd feel better if we had more than two of those series at home, but our pitching has been solid enough to give us a chance on the road against anyone.
Just have to watch out for those late inning intentional walks in Oxford.
