Its about people being blind to their own circumstances.

Oddly enough, the show and its theme song sought to pit the "socially enlightened" Baby Boomers against the "stuck in their ways" Greatest Generation.
It worked very well.

Mostly local folks and their businesses are being destroyed. No one there to defend them. I wonder what you would think if this was happening in Peachtree City,Jasper, Athens,Rome, etc...?

I saw some footage of a pack of looters passing mattresses out of a store window. They had that shat down to a science. They were working. With moving companies doing major business right now, I bet the folks in that crew could make $50 per hour, at least, if they could get their lazy asses up off those free mattresses in the morning.

I stopped watching "All in the Family" 'cause of meathead........JohnnyBee says it's a communist song.
I must be missing something. How is this communist?

Boy, the way Glen Miller played.
Songs that made the Hit Parade.
Guys like us, we had it made.
Those were the days
Didn't need no welfare state.
Everybody pulled his weight
Gee, our old LaSalle ran great.
Those were the days
And you knew where you were then
Girls were girls and men were men.
Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
People seemed to be content.
Fifty dollars paid the rent.
Freaks were in a circus tent.
Those were the days
Take a little Sunday spin,
Go to watch the Dodgers win.
Have yourself a dandy day
That cost you under a fin.
Hair was short and skirts were long.
Kate Smith really sold a song.
I don't know just what went wrong
Those Were the Days
