Just seems odd to me. I wonder if he’s looking to the future and sees a potential crackdown in the US on free speech if Dems stay in power, especially with the recent developments in France with the Telegram CEO.
He also stated that satire / humor was included.“I believe the government pressure was wrong and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” Zuckerberg wrote in the letter dated Aug. 26 and posted on the committee’s Facebook page and to its account on X.
The letter is the latest repudiation by Zuckerberg of efforts to target misinformation around the coronavirus pandemic during and after the 2020 presidential election, particularly as allegations have emerged that some posts were deleted or restricted.
Whats wrong with efforts to target misinformation around the coronavirus pandemic?
Maybe because the info he was censoring was the truth and the government info he was protecting was the misinfo. Also, when the government is trying to censor malinformation, you ain't living in a democracy.“I believe the government pressure was wrong and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” Zuckerberg wrote in the letter dated Aug. 26 and posted on the committee’s Facebook page and to its account on X.

My thoughts as well. Should Trump win, his AG is going to have some scores to settle - Meta doesn’t want to be one of them. I suspect some scores will be settled should Trump win and I can’t really blame him.Maybe he's hedging his bets in case of a Trump presidency and doesn't want an unfriendly DOJ applying the same election interference standards to him as are being used on Trump and his allies.
I wouldn't blame him but my hope is he would appoint an AG that was beyond reproach, instruct that AG that he didn't want to settle any political scores but he wanted to aggressively root out corruption and turn him loose. Personally, if I had one or two issues that I placed above others it would be child abuse/trafficking and misuse of government power. I think the reasons for protecting children is fairly obvious but if our government is abusing it's constitutional powers, we are no longer a democratic republic. My thoughts as well. The problem wasn't private posts on X or FB. The disinfo was coming from the Govt.“I believe the government pressure was wrong and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” Zuckerberg wrote in the letter dated Aug. 26 and posted on the committee’s Facebook page and to its account on X.

to give the impression that the dems have head winds and the media isn't in the bag. Think about it, what has it changed?Just seems odd to me. Because many times there is truth in the satire/humor. That is what they were censoring. He also stated that satire / humor was included.
What’s wrong with satire and humor? The world needs more of it instead of being so bitter at every turn,
I concur with you in theory, but you can't have a potential Presidential candidate having their house raided, facing foolish state civil and felony trials and possible collusion from AG;s office in some of these cases and NOT get some type response. Should Trump win and the Republicans keep the house Jordan can do all the nasty work with calling judges, former and current prosecutors and their family members before his committee and should anything fall out the AG can come down with the hammer. I understand their dislike for Trump, but they went to far and someone has to be held accountable.I wouldn't blame him but my hope is he would appoint an AG that was beyond reproach, instruct that AG that he didn't want to settle any political scores but he wanted to aggressively root out corruption and turn him loose. I think we're on the same page and Trump is mean enough to deliver the enema that would flush the feces out of DC. My hope would be that a strong AG would attack corruption very aggressively and go where the facts led them and if solid, traditional cases could be prosecuted, bring the cases. What I don't want to see would be a Trump admin using lawfare, novel theories and witch hunts with news crews in tow and tit for tat actions just for retribution.I concur with you in theory, but you can't have a potential Presidential candidate having their house raided, facing foolish state civil and felony trials and possible collusion from AG;s office in some of these cases and NOT get some type response. also worth noting this statement goes against Biden cabinet officials senate testimony from 2022Just seems odd to me. He knows Biden is done and he need not worry about him anymore and him saying this now does not hinder his campaign efforts. He now can set expectations moving forward. As he said he regrets the way they handled things in the past.Just seems odd to me.
