I figured the stupid dispute couldn’t last long & YTTV definitely did itself more financial damage by allowing things to get to a point of actually losing all the ESPN’s for the first weekend of bowl season than it was trying to avoid having to pay to re-up the contract with Disney. I was planning to give it until today before I switched to a different service provider & now it looks like I don’t have to switch off YTTV.
But can we trust them not to let this same thing repeat? With Georgia in the CFP looming I now have to wonder. I don’t know the details of what led to the deal getting done between Google & Disney so the ESPN’s got back on YTTV. Any insights from those who’ve paid closer attention to this than me? For now I’m glad that the programming is back & I don’t have to go through the whole excercise of switching providers & getting they set up on all my devices, but wondering if I still should. No interest in Hulu live Tv though. I don’t like the idea of being strong armed into it by Disney, who of course owns both ESPN & Hulu. Plus Hulu tv pricing packages suck compared to YTTV, plus I have already tried Hulu before for the same purpose & did not love it. Fubo seems intriguing, but also almost a carbon copy of YTTV.
