I just spoke to Thorson at the ESP Big Ball Fore All event.

Here's where things stand on his eligibility:

Thorson had started college in Australia. When he arrived in the US, he had two years of eligibility left. However, he can apply for a waiver that would grant him a third year. That is the plan, as Thorson hopes to continue improving and also earn his degree from Georgia.

Drew Miller is currently committed as a scholarship punter in the 2024 class. He gives the Bulldogs a punter of the future, but also an insurance policy of sorts should Thorson's waiver be denied. I'm not exactly sure what the likelihood of that is or how often the NCAA doles out those waivers.

So to sum up: the ideal scenario is that Thorson is Georgia's punter in 2023 and 2024. But in case that doesn't work out, Drew Miller will be there waiting in the wings.
