with 30 years living in Austin, here are a few idea for the Dawgnation (all of these places had rooms an hour ago)

all the downtown bad ass hotels are pretty much booked. my favorite, the Fairmont, has rooms at 2,200 a night and thats it, not very reasonable.. (although the pool scene there on Sunday is pretty sick!!! 😎 and may be worth the price)

only other one id recommend is the Cambria right off Rainey street.. 1,000 a night Rainey street is where all the locals and college girls go to party (more on that later)

on east 6th street is a hotel called "arrive Austin" great area, walking to everything...only a few years old and super nice. somewhat minimalist but cant beat walking to bars and resturants $900 a night (this hotel is right next to the Texas state cemetary and i suggest all of you plan to wander this amazing hallowed ground for 15 minutes. most of the Texas greats are here, but if only to see the American snipers "Chris Kyle's" final resting place, its worth it. you will be surrounded in deep history here)

next are is the Domain in north Austin....very VERY cool area....very tight upscale shopping and high tech area. its known as the "second downtown" here and it lives up to its name. great food and bars. only about 15 miles north of Austin. There is an amazing boutique hotel there called "the Archer" not on hotels.com, have to go to their website. 3 night minimum at $800 a night. Ive hosted parties there and give it 5 star Howboutem review

there is a 3 star option downtown at Extended stay America, right across the river from downtown, walk to everything and party big. not swanky but a place to lay your drunk ass down 500 a night

next option is just west of town in Westlake (very nice area) bad aZZ hotel called "the viata" 4/5 star 20 minute ride into downtown super swank....all the PGA golfers either stay here or barton creek CC for Dell match play...$800 a night 5 star review

next is a little farther out in bee caves...20 miles west of downtown...30 min uber to game and DT area....Sonesta bee caves is cool little 6 story hotel in the hill country galleria....great rooftop bar scene (ill be here a few nights chatting up the bar maids) $700 a night

little farther west is the hyatt 4 points.....really out by itself...you'll need to go into lakeway, the domain or downtown to party, but its a decent place to stay $500 a night

headed east and farther out is the Hyatt lost pines resort. now we are about 25 miles outside of town on the way to Bastrop Texas. just past the Tesla mega factory. this is a family resort in the summer, kids love this joint on the Colorado river. little farther out buy if your traveling with family, its a thought. big rooms and massive pool area $1,000 a night

then there is San antonio option. San antonio is about 90 minutes away, not too bad. great town!! Id suggest you stay on river walk to get full effect. many options here but i stay at the omni la mansion, get a room overlooking the river. $300 a night

Ill have other options with food bar recommendations and such at another date. Go Dawgs!!!!!
