I'm sure there are many ways to explain that, and I'm sure many will take their shots, but I remain convinced as I have said several times over the last five years, Georgia people and Athens people want basketball. You don't have to look too close to know we now have a President that wants a good team and the AD is, naturally - liking his job and all that, on board.

In between the grassroots and the President/AD, I figure we still have issues, but we can deal with them.

I'd like a Final Four team this year, I'm dying to go into the last five minutes in a tight game on a Sunday night playing for the Sweet Sixteen. I want to hear great players in Atlanta say "Georgia". I want to call long distance and hear someone say, "Pretty good basketball club you got in Athens."

But, I accept that Georgia basketball is a long term proposition - that may make me unusual, and I'm optimistic. Probably makes me unusual also.
