WHEN THE DAWGS ARE ON DEFENSE
- Our pass rush will be there when we need it. Milroe will have some escapes, and will create some downfield magic a time or three, but we'll have enough success there to help us win the game. Been looking for Mykel Williams all season...we'll find him tomorrow. He's going to have a finger up Bama LT Proctor's butthole all evening.
- We'll limit their run game enough. It won't be pretty at times, but we'll make Bama have to throw it more than they really want to.
- Our DL will get it done for the most part, and will free up the young 'backers to look the best they've looked against good competition all season. CJ will roll in the middle with double digit tackles. I like our big, experienced guys in the middle to have their most complete game of the year, and look for youngster Christian Miller to make a solid impact off the bench with fresh legs and an interior pass rush (which could be a game changing aspect), and will force Milroe into a stand or flee decision at least a couple of times.
- DBs will be like glue. Will get turned around a couple of times and allow a couple of too-easy long completions, but all in all will be more than adequate covering Burton, Bond, and company. With Jase limited or out, watch for Tommy Rees to add a wrinkle by sending freshman RB Haynes out of the backfield as a pass catcher a couple of times - Mondon will need to watch that kid closely on screens and wheel routes.
- The OL will dominate this game. That will be the headline tomorrow night. That will also enable....
- Carson Beck to etch his name into Bulldog lore forever. Gonna make himself a boatload of money in this game too. May not even throw for 300, but he'll be cruelly efficient as he slices and dices the Bama defense for a cool 72-75% completion rate, and saves all his bad decisions for poker night at Stetson's place.
- Bowers will get his, but won't go total astronaut with a ton of catches or yards. However, will make his presence known in other ways that will impact the game - blocking on the edge and drawing a lot of defenders' attention whatever he's doing. Bama won't allow him to beat them, but he will still get the last laugh.
- Our receivers will have a lot of success as a unit. Nobody doubles the catches or yardage of his teammates, but 4-5 guys will have big smiles on their faces when the clock hits 0:00.
- Kendal and Dajun are going to eat red elephant steak, and a lot of it. The 4th quarter will belong to them.
- Will be pretty special. Gonna make at least one big play on a return, a blocked kick, or a turnover. Maybe Mews justifies Kirby's confidence in him.
- Woodring goes 100% again, and could be a difference maker. Kid is sure money.
- The Kangaroo Killa only needs to punt 3x all night.
